1. Who Can Benefit?
Eligible pregnant and breastfeeding women can apply for Pradhan Mantri Matruvandana Yojana by the Department of Women and Child Development.
2. What are the Benefits?
For the first-time mothers, an incentive of Rs. 5,000 is given. If it’s a girl child’s second birth, the incentive increases to Rs. 6,000. This money supports mothers to provide nutritious food and care for their newborns, ensuring their healthy upbringing.
3. How is the Money Transferred?
After the first delivery, the pregnant woman receives Rs. 3,000 in the first installment and Rs. 2,000 in the second installment after the birth. For the second child, Rs. 6,000 is given, and the amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank account through Direct Cash Transfer (DBT), three months after the child’s birth.
4. How to Apply?
To apply, fill the designated form and submit it along with a copy of Mata Shishu Rakshakan Card, Beneficiary’s Aadhaar Card, and a Xerox copy of either Ration Card, Caste and Income Certificate, Nerega Card, E-Shram Card, or Ayushman Card.
