From December 25, the Yogi Adityanath government will distribute smartphones and tablets to students finishing graduation and above in honor of BJP stalwart and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari.
At Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, around one lakh smartphones and tablets will be distributed to students of B.Tech, B.A, B.Sc, MA, ITI, MBBS, MD, M.Tech, PhD and skill development courses.
This program will be attended by a large number of students, including girls, from every district in the state.

UP: 1 Lakh Students to Get Free Tablets, Smartphones on Vajpayee Anniversary
As part of its ‘free laptop program’ for students, the UP government is distributing mobile phones and tablets to as many as one lakh college students ahead of the elections.
- Young people in Uttar Pradesh will soon receive tablets and smartphones.
- This scheme will be available to young people pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, technical, and diploma degrees. In addition, they will be able to get digital access at no cost according to their needs.
- A special fund of Rs 3,000 crore will be created for this purpose by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
UP Free Tablets, Smartphones Scheme: 1st Phase
The chief minister will distribute 60,000 smartphones and 40,000 tablets in the first phase of the program.
An order for smartphones and tablets worth Rs 2,035 crore has been placed in the first phase. 10.5 lakh smartphones have been ordered at a cost of Rs 10,740 each, and 7.20 lakh tablets at a cost of Rs 12,606 each.

Uttar Pradesh Free Smartphone/ Tablet Yojana 2022: UP Free Tablet / Smartphone Scheme Online Application Form PDF Download – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced today that a Rs 3,000 crore fund will be used to provide smartphones and laptops to 1 crore youth. UP government plans to equip Anganwadi workers in the state with smartphones in order to improve their welfare. In the state, there are 1.89 lakh Anganwadi centers and around four lakh workers.
Anganwadi workers will now have access to all data related to women and children’s schemes, the release said, and the government will also train them on using smartphones efficiently.

Uttar Pradesh Free Smartphone/ Tablet Yojana Eligibility Criteria
Beneficiary Eligibility Guidelines:
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh.
- A student must be enrolled in a degree program, postgraduate program, technical or diploma program.
- There must be a government or government-run school where he / she is studying. A school that is funded by the government.
