Telangana: Elections are being held soon.. have you corrected your name in the voter list..?

Assembly Elections Coming Soon

In a few months, there will be important assembly elections. People who are 18 years or older are applying for an Election Identity Card. However, officials have noticed mistakes in the voting cards of some individuals who already have them.

Updates Needed

Many of these mistakes need to be fixed. With the upcoming elections in mind, the Election Commission is working on a comprehensive plan. This plan includes making changes, additions, and deletions to the voter list. The goal is to create an accurate list of eligible voters.

Checking Your Information

Ronald Rose, who is in charge of elections in the Hyderabad District, has advised voters to check if their name is correctly listed in the voter list. This will help ensure that the list is free from errors.

Common Mistakes

Mistakes such as misspelled names, mismatched photos, incorrect addresses, dates of birth, genders, and phone numbers, as well as errors in family member names and relationships, can all occur in the voter list. The Election Commission has made it possible to correct these errors. This can be done not only at the polling station but also at different polling stations within the same area.

Making Changes Online

To correct any errors or make additions to the voter list, you can use an online form called Form-8 at www.voters.gov.in. You can also download the voter helpline app for assistance. Remember, only those with an Election Identity Card (EPIC) can vote. If your name is not on the voter list, you won’t be able to cast your vote.

If you need help with the website registration, you can call the voter helpline at 1950 during office hours (10:30 am to 5:00 pm). This is a great opportunity to update your voter card if needed.
