New Changes In Rajiv Arogyashri Scheme in Telangana

The Congress government in Telangana is committed to fulfilling its promises, and one such commitment is the implementation of the Rajiv Arogya Shree Bima Scheme. Launched shortly after assuming office, the scheme aims to revolutionize healthcare in the state.

Key Features:

The Rajiv Arogya Shree Bima Scheme is part of the six guarantees announced by the Congress party. Its primary objective is to offer health insurance coverage of up to Rs. 10 lakh to families falling below the poverty line (BPL).

Target Beneficiaries:

In Telangana, approximately 90 lakh families are categorized as BPL, making them eligible for the scheme. This initiative represents a significant increase from the previous health insurance limit of Rs. 5 lakh, now doubled to Rs. 10 lakh annually.

Scope of Coverage:

The scheme encompasses a comprehensive range of 1672 medical services, ensuring extensive healthcare support for beneficiaries. All hospitals within the Arogya Shree network across the state will participate in the implementation.

Implementation Status:

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy officially launched the scheme on December 9th in Hyderabad. Currently, 77 lakh 19 thousand people in Telangana possess Arogyashri cards, signifying a substantial existing base of beneficiaries.

Historical Context:

The Arogya Shree scheme was initially introduced during the tenure of YS, and until recently, the coverage limit was capped at five lakhs. The newly elected Congress government has commendably doubled this limit to Rs. 10 lakhs, prioritizing the health and well-being of the citizens.
