Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana : designed to provide irrigation facilities to farmers in Maharashtra has been launched. This scheme provides solar pumps to Maharashtra’s farmers so that they can irrigate their fields with water from the sun, converting the old diesel and electric pumps to solar pumps. The Maharashtra government will provide subsidy for the installation of a new solar pump.

The State Government will provide farmers with 1,00,000 agricultural pumps under this government scheme. Several solar pumps will be installed in phases as part of the Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Scheme. A target of installing 1 lakh pumps has been set under the Maharashtra Atal Saur Krishi Pump Yojana. Objective of Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana 2022

You are probably aware that even today, there are many farmers who irrigate their fields with diesel and electricity pumps, which cost a lot since diesel pumps are expensive. Because of this, the State Government has introduced this project.

Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana was launched by Maharashtra’s Chief Minister in 2022 to provide irrigation to the state’s farmers. The state government provides a grant of 95% of the cost of the pump under the solar pump scheme. The beneficiary will be required to pay the remaining 5%.

As well as increasing farmer income, the Maharashtra Solar Pump Yojana 2022 will also prevent them from having to purchase pumps on the market at higher prices because solar pumps will be provided to farmers. In addition, these solar pumps do not pollute the environment.

Benefits of Mukhymantri Solar Pump Yojana 2022

This scheme benefits all farmers in the state.

Solar pumps will be provided to farmers who have diesel petrol pumps.
The government will distribute 25,000 solar water pumps under Mukhymantri Solar Pump Yojana the followed by 50,000 and 25,000 solar pumps in the state on the second phase.
Farmers who already have electricity connections in the state will not be provided with solar-powered AG pumps under the program.
This will reduce environmental pollution as well.
All Farmers will be provided with solar pumps under this scheme. They will also increase their incomes, and they will not have to purchase solar pumps at high prices on the market.
Irrigation has now become easier for farmers in the state.
As part of this scheme, farmer brothers will have to pay 5% toward the pump, while the government will cover the other 95%.

Features of the Scheme

The features of the Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana are as follows:
In rural areas where the agricultural feeder is not available, the Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana aims to reach out to farmers.
The government will subsidize solar pumps for farmers under the scheme guidelines.
Under the scheme, solar pumps of 3HP or 5HP will be installed along with the lighting system, which will include 2 LEDs, a USB port for charging mobile devices and a socket for charging batteries.
By the end of this year, the Government plans to deploy 1 lakh off-grid solar-powered agricultural pumps.
A subsidy of 95% will be provided to farmers with less than 5 acres, while those with more than 5 acres will receive a 5 HP solar pump for Rs.30,000.

Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana Aims

Due to the high cost of petrol and diesel, the farmer brothers have to face a lot of difficulties to irrigate their fields, so they use diesel and petrol to do so. The Maharashtra government has launched the Mukhyamantri Solar Krishi Pump Yojana 2022 in an effort to eliminate such problems and make farmers self-sufficient.

Thus, the farmers won’t have to run around for diesel and petrol to irrigate their fields. Solar pumps can be installed on the fields of all of those farmers under the scheme. State government grants 95% of the price of a solar pump under the Solar Pump Scheme.

The farmers will also have to contribute 5%. Through the Maharashtra Solar Pump Yojana 2022, farmers in the state will now be able to increase their income. Moreover, farmers will not have to pay a higher price for solar pumps.

Eligibility for Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana

Before applying to the Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana, farmers should check the eligibility criteria, which are the following:-

Applicants must have an assured source of water. This scheme will not benefit farmers with traditional electricity connections, however.
Farmers in the region who do not electrify their traditional sources of energy (i.e. MSEDCL).
Remote and tribal farmers.
Rivers, nallahs, farm ponds, as well as dug wells, are among the water sources.
The forest department has not yet given its NOC to farmers in villages that haven’t been electrified.
Paying the applicants for new power connections to the AG pump on the pending list.
In selected beneficiaries’ fields, 3 HP DC pumping systems will be installed up to 5 acres and 5 HP DC pumping systems over 5 acres.

Beneficiary Selection Criteria ( for 3 & 5 HP solar pump) :

Landowners with assured water supply.
It is not advisable for farmers to have conventional electricity connections.
Those with farm land up to 5 acres are eligible for 3 HP pumps, while those with more than 5 acres are eligible for 5 HP and 7.5 HP pumps.
Farmers which are not electrified through any scheme previously.
Priority to farmers from Remote & Tribal area.
Villagers from villages that have yet to be electrified due to the forest department’s NOC

Beneficiary Selection Criteria for 7.5 HP Pump :

Water source must be well (वि‍हिर) or tube-well (कुपनलिका) only.
Solar pump will not be given on well & tube well coming under over-exploited, exploited & partially exploited villages defined by GSDA
Solar pump will be given to beneficiaries coming under villages in Safe Watersheds having Stage of Development / Extraction less than 60%.
Solar pump will not be given on Bore well coming under rock area.
The depth of water source must not be more than 60 mtrs.

The applicant, who is pending payment for the new electricity connection to the existing agricultural pump, will have to fill only some mandatory fields, e.g. It is mandatory to provide details such as application number, receipt number, approval number and capacity demand etc.
