IRCTC, the railway authority, has exciting news for train travelers! They’ve teamed up with Zomato, the popular food delivery app, to offer a convenient food delivery service to passengers.
Order Food Easily
Now, passengers traveling by train can order their favorite food items through the Zomato app. This means you can choose your meals in advance and have them delivered right to your train seat.
Where is it Available?
Initially, this service is available at five major stations in India: New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Although limited now, the service may expand to more stations in the future.
How Does it Work?
Passengers can use the IRCTC e-catering services to place their food orders. Zomato will ensure that the ordered food reaches the specified stations. This initiative aims to enhance passengers’ dining experience while traveling.
Special Offer for Festive Season
During the festive season, IRCTC has introduced a special ‘Thali’ facility for those observing fasting during Devi Navratri. This thoughtful service caters to the diverse needs of passengers.
Zomato Gold Membership
Zomato also offers a fantastic deal through its ‘Zomato Gold’ membership. For just Rs 149 (previously Rs 999), users can enjoy a three-month subscription. With this membership, orders above Rs. 199 qualify for free food delivery from nearby restaurants within a 10 km radius.
IRCTC and Zomato are working together to make train journeys more enjoyable and convenient for passengers!
