Problem Identified
The capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad, is facing a water supply crisis due to a major leakage in the main pipeline of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Scheme. This pipeline, crucial for supplying drinking water to the city, experienced a massive leak at Ragannaguda.
Repair Work in Progress
Efforts are underway to fix the leak and restore the water supply. Repair work is scheduled to take place from 6 am on Wednesday to 6 am on the following day, Thursday, i.e., until October 12, 2023.
Impact on Water Supply
As a result of the repair work, water supply will be disrupted in several areas under the jurisdiction of Jal Mandal for a duration of 24 hours. It is essential for residents in the affected areas to be prepared for this temporary disruption.

The following areas in Hyderabad will experience water supply disruption:
- O&M Division-1: NPA, Miralam.
- O&M Division-2: Balapur, Mysaram, Barkas.
- O&M Division-5: Mekalamandi, Bholakpur.
- O&M Division-7: Tarnaka, Lalapet, Buddhanagar, Mared Pally, Control Room, Railways, MES, Cantonment, Prakash Nagar, Patigadda.
- O&M Division-9: Hasmat Pate, Feroze Guda, Gautam Nagar.
- O&M Division-10 (A), (B): Vaishali Nagar, BN Reddy Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Auto Nagar, Alkapuri Colony.
- O&M Division-13: Mahindra Hills.
- O&M Division-14: Elugutta, Ramanthapur, Uppal, Nacharam, Habsiguda, Chilkanagar, Birappagadda.
- O&M Division-16: Budvel, Shastripuram.
- O&M Division-19: Boduppal.
- O&M Division-20: Mir Pate, Badung Pate, Shamshabad, Manneguda.
