Chief Minister KCR of Telangana made an important announcement regarding a rise in pensions. During his visit to Suryapet district on Sunday, he addressed a public gathering to talk about this development.
Congress Misses Pension Commitment
In the past, the Congress party promised a pension of Rs. 1000 but did not fulfill it. They initially provided Rs. 200 as pension, but later reduced it. While they had previously given Rs. 200, they now propose Rs. 4000. The question arises if an additional Rs. 1000 will be added.
KCR’s Assurance on Pension Increase
CM KCR stated that he is committed to increasing pensions. He pointed out that even in Congress-ruled states like Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, a promised pension of Rs. 4000 has not been implemented. Different reasons have been given, such as the need for motor meters or three hours of free electricity. KCR indirectly criticized Prime Minister Modi and TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, expressing a desire for the return of old times and remarking on their promise to remove Dharani.
The Role of Farmers in Land Ownership
KCR discussed the power dynamics around land ownership. He questioned if it’s necessary to revisit offices with applications. Once land is registered in the Dharani system, can changes be made? KCR highlighted that even the CM lacks the authority to alter a farmer’s land. He emphasized that this power lies with the farmer alone. Dharani has given farmers authority over their land, and KCR urged them to consider this. He warned against a return to a time of tyranny if the Congress were to come back to power. Both Congress and BJP claim a single chance for governance.
