RBI Announcements: November’s Holiday Calendar
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regularly updates us about bank holidays. For November, there are 15 non-working days due to regional festivals and special occasions across the country.
Specific Holidays in November: A Breakdown
- November 1: Banks in Bangalore, Imphal, and Shimla are closed due to Kannada Rajathotsavam/Karva Chauth/Kut festival.
- November 10: Banks in Shillong celebrate Vangala festival.
- November 13: Diwali is on November 12, a Sunday. Banks in Agartala, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Jaipur, Kanpur, and Lucknow remain closed.
- November 14: Banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bangalore, Gangtok, Mumbai, and Nagpur observe Diwali Balipratipada festival.
- November 15: Banks in Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Shimla are closed in honor of Lakshmi Puja.
- November 20: Banks in Patna and Ranchi celebrate Chhath festival.
- November 23: Banks in Dehradun and Shillong close due to Seng Kutsunem.
- November 27: Guru Nanak Jayanthi is observed, with banks closed everywhere except Ahmedabad, Imphal, and AP.
- November 30: Bangalore banks shut down for Kanakadasa Jayanti.

Apart from these festivals, banks won’t operate on November 5, 11, 12, 19, 25, and 26, along with the second Saturday, fourth Saturday, and Sundays.
