Gopabandhu Sikh Sahayata Yojana Eligibility Criteria
Family members must fall into one of these categories.
- The family was affected by HIV/AIDS (either the father or mother or both).
- Families who are homeless.
- People who are destitute or living off alms.
- Scavengers who pick up trash by hand.
- Especially vulnerable are tribal groups.
- Legally released bond laborers.
- An unmarried, widowed, or divorced mother has one or more children under the age of 13 in a single mother household).
- Odisha should be his permanent home.
- An applicant must be enrolled for regular undergraduate or postgraduate courses in an Odisha-based college or institute.
- Applicants should have a monthly income of less than Rs.100000 from all sources.
- This scheme covers undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by state-recognized colleges and universities as well as those offered by Government Universities of Odisha.
Documents Required:-
Documents required for application to this scholarship scheme include:
- Certificate of residency
- An original copy of my certificate
- If necessary, a copy of the Medical Officer’s Certificate confirming HIV/AIDS status.
- If necessary, the revenue authority’s certificate regarding unsheltered houses.
- The District Social Welfare Officer must provide a copy of the certificate of being a single mother, if necessary.
- A destitute/beggar certificate must be provided by the Sarpanch or Urban Local Body Authority.
- When required, a manual scavenger certificate from a competent authority must be submitted.
- If required, a certificate from the District Welfare Officer confirming membership in a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group.
- Upon request, the District Welfare Officer/District Labor Officer/or any competent authority will issue a certificate of legally free bonded labor.

Selection Process:-
Scholarship applicants are selected as follows:-
- Students’ details will be verified with the necessary documents submitted by them when they submit their applications to the concerned institution.
- Principals and heads of institutions must verify student eligibility and supporting documents.
- All documents submitted along with the application should be properly tagged in order to prevent any loss.
- A committee may be formed by the Principal to verify the applications.
- To the District Magistrate, only the complete application forms of the eligible students will be presented.
- In order to finalize the eligible students, a committee will be formed by the concerned District Collector after receiving proposals from various institutions.
- Applicants for financial assistance will be considered by the committee based on the scheme’s eligibility criteria.
- The Higher Education Department will electronically transfer the required amount directly to the bank accounts of the selected students once the District Collector sends the list of eligible students.

Financial help:-
Financial assistance will be provided to the beneficiaries of this scheme in the following ways:
