The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme has brought significant advantages to the housewives of Karnataka. The state government has already deposited two installments directly into the accounts of homeowners.

2. New Scheme: 2 Lakh Loans for Women

Apart from Gruha Lakshmi, the Karnataka Government has introduced another scheme aimed at empowering women. Through this initiative, women can avail loans of up to 2 lakh rupees at zero interest rates.

3. Comprehensive Empowerment Initiatives

The Karnataka Government has not only implemented Gruha Lakshmi but also several other schemes such as Annabhagya, Shakti Yojana, and Griha Jyoti Yojana. Additionally, a new scheme for women was announced before the Youth Fund Scheme.

4. StreeShakthi Scheme: Financial and Organizational Empowerment

Karnataka’s Women and Child Development Minister, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, announced the StreeShakthi Scheme, offering a loan of Rs 2 lakh to its members. This initiative aims to empower women both financially and organizationally, and what’s unique is that it charges zero interest on the loan amount.

5. Zero Interest Loans through Women Power Organizations

Under this scheme, women can access loans without interest, up to 2 lakh rupees each, through 25,000 women empowerment organizations across the state. The government has allocated Rs 70,427 crore in the current year’s budget to support women’s empowerment efforts.

6. Strengthening Women’s Organizations

The government’s objective is to bolster women’s organizations by providing substantial loans at zero interest rates. This initiative not only promotes financial progress among women but also strives to create a positive social environment.

7. Strishakti Yojana: Empowering Women since 2000

The Strishakti Yojana, initiated in 2000-01, has been instrumental in economically and socially empowering women in Karnataka. Streeshakti groups have been formed in both urban and rural areas of 176 taluks in the state. Loans are already being provided to Strishakti Sanghs.

8. Fostering Economic Growth and Productivity

The government aims to increase the income of underprivileged women by encouraging their participation in productive activities. Women’s group members are benefiting from various development programs initiated by different departments.

9. Continued Support: Gruha Lakshmi Yojana

Through the Gruha Lakshmi Yojana, every woman heading a family in Karnataka receives a monthly transfer of 2000 rupees directly into her bank account (DBT). Two months’ worth of funds have already been deposited, and this scheme continues to positively impact more women in the state.
