Dalit Bandhu 2nd Phase Begins on October 2
The government is launching the second phase of Dalit Bandhu on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. This phase aims to help more families in need.
Application Evaluation Underway
Officials are currently reviewing 50,000 applications in 72 constituencies. The government plans to select 1,100 beneficiaries from each constituency, working closely with MLAs.
Scheme Overview
In the first phase, 38,323 families received support totaling Rs. 4,441.80 crores. Each family was granted Rs. 10 lakh. The second phase targets 1,30,000 families, excluding Huzurabad, with 1,100 families per constituency.
Concerns and Changes
During the first phase, some MLAs faced criticism for biased beneficiary selection. To address this, the government has empowered District Collectors for the second phase. However, MLAs will still play a role in the selection process.
Minister KTR’s Initiative
Minister KTR will kick off the second phase on October 2, distributing checks to 162 beneficiaries in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal districts. Special assistance, like sewage waste transport vehicles, will be provided where needed.
