1. Introduction
The Muzrai Mass Marriage Scheme, also known as Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana, was launched by BS Yediyurappa in January 2020. This initiative aims to support the brides and grooms of Karnataka state who come from financially challenged backgrounds.
2. Marriage Dates
Mass marriages are organized on 26 April and 24 May, providing an opportunity for couples to tie the knot without financial stress.
3. Benefits of the Scheme
- Financial Assistance: Each couple receives a total of 55,000 rupees, including:
- Mangalsutra worth Rs. 40,000 for the bride
- Rs. 5,000 cash for the groom
- Rs. 10,000 cash for the bride
- Mass Marriages: The scheme promotes mass marriages for the state’s underprivileged residents.
4. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scheme, the bride and groom must meet specific criteria:
- They must be legal residents of Karnataka.
- The marriage should occur at selected temples.
- Both sets of parents must be present at the ceremony.
- Love marriages are not eligible.
- Bride must be 18 years or above, and groom must be 21 years or above.
- Applicable only for Hindu marriages.

Applicants need to provide:
- Address proof confirming Karnataka residency.
- Age proof for bride and groom.
- Aadhar card for identification.
- Religion certificate (applicable for Hindus).
- Permission letter from parents.
6. Application Process
