The Hyderabad Meteorological Center warns of heavy rain in Telangana for the next two days. A low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal is moving westward and affecting southern Odisha and Chhattisgarh, leading to potential heavy rainfall in the state. A yellow alert has been issued for multiple districts, including Manchiryala, Karimnagar, Asifabad, Peddapalli, Nirmal, Jagityala, Rajanna Sirisilla, and Siddipet.

Torrential Rain Hits Hyderabad

Hyderabad experienced torrential rain on Monday afternoon. Dark clouds gathered after 2 PM, followed by heavy rain. This downpour led to flooding on city roads, affecting areas like Panjagutta, Jubileehills, Banjarahills, Begumpet, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur, Mehdipatnam, and others. Motorists encountered difficulties due to waterlogged roads. Weather officials predict moderate rain in Hyderabad today.

Southwest Monsoon Retreat Delayed

The southwest monsoon retreat began in Rajasthan on September 25, as reported by the Hyderabad Meteorological Center. Normally, the monsoon starts its exit from Rajasthan on September 17, but this year, it began a week later. The southwest monsoon will complete its exit from India by October 15. It’s important to note that rain can occur during this retreat phase.
