Increasing Activity of Cyber Criminals
Cyber criminals are becoming more active these days and tricking people using popular topics.

When the government announces a new scheme, cyber criminals quickly take advantage of it. They convince people that by sharing certain documents, they will receive money directly in their accounts.
Aadhaar Card Updates
The Aadhaar card needs to be updated every ten years, as announced by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Recently, people started updating their Aadhaar cards after this announcement.
Online Scam Alert
Cyber criminals are taking advantage of this situation. They share links containing malware, urging people to click on them for updating their Aadhaar cards. Clicking on these links can expose personal information and bank details to cyber criminals.
UIDAI’s Response
UIDAI authorities took quick action against this cyber fraud. They warned Aadhaar cardholders not to share identity or address proofs through email or WhatsApp for updates. Instead, they advised using the official #myAadhaarPortal or visiting Aadhaar centers for updates.
Precautions for Aadhaar Card
UIDAI advised treating the Aadhaar card with the same caution as other ID cards. It’s safe to use for identity and financial transactions, but sharing it on public platforms like Twitter and Facebook can lead to misuse due to its sensitive information.
