The Pradhan Mantri Matrutva Vandana Yojana offers several advantages. It is designed to provide financial support to pregnant women. A sum of 5000 rupees is allocated for the well-being of newborns and to prevent diseases. To avail of this scheme, pregnant women should be at least 19 years old.

Benefits for Pregnant Women

This initiative is exclusively meant for women. The monetary assistance is directly deposited into the women’s bank accounts. The total amount of 5000 rupees is distributed in three installments. The first installment amounts to 1000 rupees, followed by 2000 rupees in the second and third installments. Regardless of the gender of the baby born, the mother receives 1000 rupees in three stages, followed by 2000 rupees after six months, and another 2000 rupees after 14 weeks from delivery.

Additional Support for Special Situations

For recently pregnant women, 3000 rupees are provided in two installments. For those 14 weeks post-delivery, an amount of 2000 rupees is granted. If a second child is born, the mother is eligible to receive 6000 rupees. Consequently, pregnant women can receive up to 11,000 rupees from the central government through this program.
