A significant number of people have applied for a housing scheme that offers financial aid of Rs. Applications were received from more than 26,000 individuals over three days. The initial phase of the government’s plan targets the distribution of financial aid to thousands of houses.
Application Process and Locations
From the 8th to the 10th of this month, applications were collected in various locations, including the Karimnagar Corporation, Hosapalli, Chopadandi, Jammikuntu, and Huzurabad municipalities. These applications were accepted at zonal council offices and tahsildar offices. The plan entails financial support for housing in different regions, with 3,000 houses allocated to the Karimnagar constituency, and varying numbers for Huzurabad, Manakondur, Chopadandi, Chigurumamidi, and Saidapur zones.
Huzurabad Constituency Leads in Applications
Out of the total applications, Huzurabad constituency had the highest number of applicants, with 12,443 submissions. The municipality and zones within Huzurabad also recorded substantial application numbers. Similar interest was seen in other areas such as Manakondur, Karimnagar, Chopadandi, Chigurumamidi, and Saidapur zones under the Husnabad constituency.
Application Review and Quota Allotment
Applications will be reviewed until the 20th of this month. Nodal and verification officers have been appointed for each constituency and zone. Once reviews are complete, houses will be assigned based on quotas, with allocations for different groups: 20% for SCs, 10% for STs, 50% for BCs, and 5% for Divisions. Beneficiaries will receive Rs. 3 lakh in three installments to construct their homes. The first installment will be provided upon completing the basement, the second after the roof’s completion, and the final installment once the house is finished. Beneficiaries are given freedom in house design.
First Installment to Support 10,500 Houses
A decision has been made to offer the first installment of financial aid to 10,500 households. The remaining applications will also receive consideration for financial assistance. The process will commence on Friday, and the list of beneficiaries will be confirmed by the 20th after application reviews. The public’s demand for an application deadline extension has prompted discussions on extending the timeline for submitting caste and income certificates and opening bank accounts.
