TS Eamcet 2023 Counselling: Special phase counseling from August 17.. Remaining seats 19 thousand

Emcet Counseling: Allocation of Engineering Seats

Emcet counseling is in progress across engineering colleges in the state. The counseling process has reached its final stage, and the allocation of engineering seats is set to take place.

Allocation Process Under Convener Quota

On August 9, the allocation of engineering seats under the Convener Quota will be carried out. A total of 19,000 seats need to be assigned to various branches. The Convener Quota offers 82,666 engineering seats. During the first installment, 70,665 seats were already allotted. In the second installment, 30,013 seats were assigned, including the remaining 18,000 from the first installment. However, despite the second installment, there are still 12,000 vacant seats.

Final Phase of Counseling

Around 7,000 students did not enroll in colleges during the second installment, leading to 19,000 seats being available for the final phase of counseling. Students selected in this phase must report to their respective colleges between August 10 and 12. Failing to do so will result in the cancellation of their allocated seat. Additionally, special counseling for remaining seats will take place from August 17 in the final installment.

NIT and IIT Seat Allocation

NIT and IIT seat allocations have concluded in Josa Counseling. Those who were not assigned seats in these institutions may find seats in a special installment counseling. After the process of special counseling options concludes, seat allocations will take place on August 23. Students receiving seats should directly report to colleges by August 25.

Special Counseling Guidelines

In the final installment of counseling, if a student is offered a seat in any branch of a college, they must submit an allocation document and complete the seat conversion process. If a student already holds a seat in a different college, they should provide Transfer Certificates (TC) and certificates, and attend special counseling in the current month.

Focus on Proprietary Quota

The Higher Education Council is prioritizing the allocation of proprietary quota seats. Officials are arranging to send proprietary quota seat details to private colleges before special counseling concludes. Each college has a 30 percent proprietary quota, with 15 percent of these seats being replaced and the remaining 15 percent allocated for NRI recommendations. Seat allotments are based on JEE, Ensett rank, and inter marks.
